Leila spent three years in the popular soap EastEnders Playing the feisty Teresa di Marco. Here is a breakdown of her character:-
Teresa di Marco (Leila Birch) - Wild child Teresa has been a constant worry to her mother with her thrill-seeking, and was bailed out by her brothers more times than they cared to remember.
She first appeared on-screen when George Palmer and Peggy Mitchell attended her father's funeral in January 1998, and had recently failed her A-level exams, making her mother suspicious that she had done this on purpose, so she could stay as a waitress in the family restaurant. However, Teresa had higher aspirations than working in the family restaurant and so got her own stall on the market.
Teresa had two relationships of note. The first was with Tony Hills, much to Beppe and Gianni's annoyance; they even tracked her down on holiday and warned Tony off.
The second, and more notable was with the
unfortunate Matthew Rose. Teresa and Matthew ran away together to
Nottingham and spent some time on the run. Teresa stood by Matthew
throughout the trial and was upset when he left the Square.
Storylines usually involved some sort of teen rebellion; there were stints in the Night Cafe working for Mick, & she also purchased Bianca's clothing stall which she only owned a short while before leaving Walford herself with the rest of the di Marco clan.
