Shakespeare Taming of The Shrew : Background Facts 'Shakespeare Under The Stars' at Stafford Castle. Leila again showed her versatility and skill during her portrayal of Bianca in 'The Taming of the Shrew'. She slipped convincingly into the classic role opposite Julie- Kate Olivier's Katherina and Matthew Kelly's Petruchio in a production that moved well and kept the audience engaged and delighted. Leila mastered technical difficulties such as holding perfect pitch while singing scale during long speaking gaps, dodging the 'real' missiles of shattering flower pots aimed at her by Katherina and not showing a hint of the fact that on many nights she was frozen and her Tudor gowns were so saturated that they shrank throughout the run.
